Multiple decision deadlines have been scheduled by the SEC throughout October for various altcoin spot crypto ETFs, including products for Solana, XRP, Litecoin, and even Dogecoin. ETF analyst James Seyffart has been tracking 92 crypto ETF filings at the time of writing, with critical decisions expected in the coming weeks.

Seyffart stated:

“Here is a list of all the filings and/or applications I’m tracking for Crypto ETPs here in the US. There are 92 line items in this spreadsheet. You will almost certainly have to scan left and zoom to see the bits you want to see. I will do an here”

The first deadline arrives this week for Canary’s spot Litecoin ETF. Regulators may greenlight spot crypto ETFs for Solana, Dogecoin, XRP, ADA, and HBAR—moves that could spark an altcoin rally across multiple assets.

On September 17, the SEC approved Generic Listing Standards for “Commodity-Based Trust Shares,” prompting exchanges like Nasdaq and CBOE BZX to file new ETF listing rules. This framework establishes a clear pathway for spot crypto ETFs to launch in the coming months and weeks.

Crypto analyst Nate Geraci had this to say:

“Enormous next few weeks for spot crypto ETFs… SEC final deadlines approaching on numerous filings. Starts this week w/ deadline on Canary spot ltc ETF. Will be followed by decisions on sol, doge, xrp, ada, & hbar ETFs (though SEC can approve any or all of these whenever).”

Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas noted that coins with futures on Coinbase are now eligible for spot ETF consideration, which could expand the altcoin rally beyond current applications and also drive additional crypto inflows into the market.

The concentration of SEC approval deadlines in October also positions this month as potentially transformative for cryptocurrency adoption. Each approval could actually set precedents for future crypto ETFs and attract some institutional crypto inflows that have been waiting for regulated investment vehicles along with clearer ETF listing rules.
