Elon Musk’s takeover of X (formerly Twitter) has come with several changes. While the concept of “X Money” has been surfacing for a while now, new reports of this system rolling out this year are making news. The CEO of X, Linda Yaccarino, declared just hours before the new year began that the website will introduce X Money, a payment system, in 2025. She declared that “X will connect you in ways never thought possible” and that users “are the media.” She also mentioned Grok, X TV, X Money, “and more.”

It should be noted that for X Payments LLC, X has been pursuing money transmitter licenses around the US. Until now, it has obtained licenses in 39 states. Amidst this, some onlookers, like American entrepreneur Alex Finn, speculated that it would debut in the US without clearance from all 50 states after a rumored screenshot of the most recent code revealed the statement, “X Money is not available in your state.”

According to Finn, Alaska, Delaware, Hawaii, Indiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, New York, Vermont, Washington, and Wisconsin would not be able to use the payments function right away.

This payment system is pertinent in the market for a lot of reasons. X users would be able to tip platform content providers using X Money.

Several believe that cryptocurrency will be included in the payment system. Dogecoin (DOGE) has been a favorite among Elon Musk and other X executives. While it is uncertain when Dogecoin will make it to X Money, the community is quite confident about this inclusion. DOGE, at press time, was trading at $0.3395. This came after a 2.47% rise in its price over the past 24 hours. The meme coin could record a major uptick after it is included in X Money.
