In a rather surprising development, Israel has eliminated all of its tariffs on US goods in an act to avoid President Trump’s reciprocal tariff. Specifically, the nation’s finance minister, Bezalal Smotrich, signed a directive Tuesday that would scrap import taxes on goods from the United States, according to a recent report.
The US government and President Trump are set to launch a barrage of reciprocal tariffs against all other nations that have duties on US goods. Although the plan is still unannounced, the administration is expected to unveil the economic policy on April 2nd.

Israel Responds to Trump Tariff Plan, Eliminates All Import Taxes on US Goods
Since his return to the White House, US President Donald Trump has adopted an increasingly aggressive economic policy. Specifically, he is seeking to balance trade through the introduction of tariffs. At first, the nation targeted global adversaries like the BRICS bloc with the increased taxes. Now, that has changed to an overarching plan set to affect all nations.
The action has now led to a rather surprising response. Indeed, Israel has opted to eliminate all tariffs on US goods to avoid Trump’s reciprocal tariffs. Specifically, a report notes that the country will “scrap all remaining tariffs on imports from the US with immediate effect.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Economy Minister Nir Barkay partnered to coordinate the directive. Moreover, it is now subject to final approval by the Knesset Finance Committee.
“Fully eliminating tariffs on imports from the US is an important step to safeguard the Israeli economy during a sensitive period,” Smotrich said. Moreover, he noted it was a step to strengthen the economic relationships with its “most important ally—the US.”
“We will continue to act decisively to protect Israeli exports and present the competitive advantages of Israel in the international arena,” he added. The nation is among the first to take such action in response to the Trump tariff plan.
