Coinbase and PayPal are expanding their partnership to enable users of both platforms in Canada to buy and sell cryptocurrency. Canadian users can now select PayPal as a payment option on Coinbase, making it easier to buy and sell crypto.

“With nearly 10 million active PayPal accounts across the country, Canadians have long trusted PayPal for their financial needs – whether it’s shopping, running their business, sending money or managing their funds online,” Coinbase wrote in their blog, revealing the announcement. ” We’re now adding another layer of convenience for Canadian crypto holders by integrating PayPal with Coinbase, allowing users to buy and sell using PayPal.”

Coinbase launched in Canada back in 2023 and has seen immense success. Meanwhile, PayPal has become a home for crypto users to execute transactions and purchases of their cryptocurrencies. Recently, the payment services company announced it will allow businesses to accept 100 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Ethereum. The conversion of crypto assets to fiat using stablecoin technology is a big step towards bridging the gap between traditional finance and crypto, with both Coinbase and PayPal playing crucial roles.
