China has started trial production of its most-awaited flying cars, according to the latest report from CGTN. The cars will be equipped with vertical take-off and landing capabilities. The trial production began in early November in a large-scale manufacturing unit. The factory, with a 120,000-square-meter area, has a production capacity of up to 10,000 units. China will export the first batch of flying cars to BRICS members, the UAE, and Russia.

XPeng AeroHT, a subsidiary of XPeng, has already secured an order of 5,000 cars, the company said. The orders for the flying cars have come from BRICS members, the UAE, and Russia. The company plans to mass-produce the equipment and begin exports by 2026. The machines comprise a six-wheel ground vehicle called the “mother ship,” the company said. Also, the aircraft will be equipped with a detachable electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.

China To Export Flying Cars: BRICS Members First Customers

BRICS will be the first to experience the flying cars, which China will mass-produce. The new-generation transport in air mobility can transform the way people commute. The size of the vehicle will be 5.5 meters in length. The maximum flying speed is expected to reach 130 kmph. If the air mobiles are successful, China could begin receiving more orders worldwide. Many other companies in China have applied for approval to produce air mobiles.

However, safety and security come into play as the technology is new. China states that the air mobile can be driven on public roads with a standard license. The company explained that the air mobile can also be parked in regular parking spaces. Moreover, full details of its capacity and performance will be known only after it is launched. BRICS is ushering in a new technological era, making it the first to produce and consume flying cars.
