The US is sending Ukraine millions worth of weapons to fight against Russia before Trump officially takes office in January. President Joe Biden is rushing to provide aid to Ukraine, fearing Trump might halt all financial assistance to Zelenskyy. The Ukrainian President has repeatedly asked for help, citing that his men cannot fight Russia without assistance from the US.

The 3-year-old war between Russia and Ukraine has cost the US taxpayers billions of dollars. The US has sent Ukraine an approximate total of $62 billion as aid since February 2022. Despite disbursing the huge amount, Zelenskyy has routinely demanded funds from the White House. Zelenskyy stressed that his army could not function without US aid and could lose the war to Russia.

Even the frontline soldiers in Ukraine are puppeting Zelenskyy’s talking points to receive funds from the US. “As long as we have ammunition, as long as we have weapons, as long as we have some means to defeat the enemy, we will fight,” said a commander. “But, when all means run out, you must understand, we will be destroyed very quickly,” he said.
